This coming June 1st, Timón Hotel releases version 9.0.5, whose most important improvement is the floor plan optimization. This optimization is based on two very important points, as follows:
- Elimination of statistical data from floor plans, which occupy a large volume in the database and are used infrequently. In this version, this data is calculated during the execution of the corresponding reports.
- Replacement of process logic with the use of triggers and stored procedures in the database.
With the first point, we have managed to considerably reduce the size of the database, which results in better performance and reliability of information. And with the second, we guarantee better and more agile application maintenance, while achieving greater efficiency and calculation speed (by leveraging server resources). Triggers constitute a powerful tool for maintaining database integrity, and among their main advantages are the following: standardization, efficiency, and security.

Note:The Sybase database engine version must be Adaptive Server Anywhere 9.0.2.3804 or higher. Timón Hotel recommends version SQL Anywhere 11, which has been completely redesigned and optimized to improve database performance.
